My name is Raymond Cook and I am a disabled veteran writer of western frontier eBooks set in the 1890's in Colorado. While am able to write, I am very poor at editing and grammar. That said, my eBooks, not all of the comments on www.Amazon.com state my grammar sucks. But there are a good number.|
Professional editing services can fix my eBooks grammar wise but they are expensive with the lowest price being $500 per eBook. As a disabled veteran the cost to professionally edit my eBooks is far out of my ability to pay for just one of my eBooks.
Here are two Amazon comments showing you the WORST and BEST comment two people made:
A Journey Along The Oregon trail!

"I don't think that I have ever given a book a one star review before and certainly don't like to, but this one was pitiful. It had the potential to be a good story but was very poorly written and was filled with unrealistic episodes. Like all the men and women calling each other darling, sweetheart in almost every sentence, and kissing each other every time they turned around. I don't think so! Then there were grammatical errors galore! How does this happen? Surely no author could write or spell this poorly. And does no one proofread these books anymore? Sorry for my rant but I am just getting really sick of trying to read this type of thing. And if children/young people read these books, how are they supposed to learn proper grammar, spelling and sentence structure? In my view, no excuse for this.”
This Amazon comment below was on my eBook called:
"I Miss My Pa The Most!"

"One part of this book, took 5 Kleenex's, I was almost sobbing, it was so emotional. The story just kept going along with this family from one drama to the next. I kept thinking this is enough for these poor farmers. it showed how lawless a lot of the West was in the 1800's."
You can verify both of these comments on Amazon by typing the titles of both books on Amazon.
I have a long ways to go before my eBooks are edited well enough to be submitted to a publisher for obvious reasons, yet still I write.
Any funds raised would be paid to a professional editing service to repair the grammar in many of my eBooks to where not only would they be enjoyed by readers but hopefully considered worthy by a publisher consideration.
Why this means so much to me?
Writing to writers is a deeply personal endeavor. We don't want to write a bad book, poorly written or poor in grammar. To offer a great book and from time receive a great comment is the nicest reward to a writer. A well written and grammar proof book also increases the chances of a publisher accepting an authors book for publication.
As a disabled veteran who has been writing since 1983, but writing books only since 2011 I would be the happiest person on earth to never see another bad comment on one of my eBooks. I have written 24 eBooks and just finished writing Book #25. All my eBooks are on Amazon. People think because I am on Amazon I am making money, tons of money. What they don't realize is that you have to find one of my books among the hundreds of pages of books for each category you type in.
My books may not be found until someone reaches page 30, 50, 80 etc, so it’s not just a matter of writing a book and putting it on Amazon to be successful. Positive comments tell future readers where a book is worth reading or not.
I thank you all for taking the time to see what I as an author am doing and what funding could actually do for me.
The editing service I would use through this fund will be:
Please make a donation to my GoFundMe and help me to make my books the best they can be!
